New Release-Stage Show: Bandleaders Jimmy and
Tommy Dorsey hosted this music- variety series. First airing as the
hour-long summer replacement for The Jackie Gleason Show, the show
returned as a weekly half-hour series during the 1955-56 season.
Stage Show is now best remembered as the show where Elvis Presley made
his national TV debut. Beginning on 1/28/1956, the future "King" would
make a total of six appearances. This collection includes 10 full-length

an hour-long anthology series that aired on CBS from 1954 to 1958. The
series was hosted by William Lundigan. Most of the episodes were
performed and broadcast live. This collection includes six of the rare
TV classics, complete with original commercials for Chrysler. But Crane is secretly in league with Sakima, and they arrange for
Hamilton's murder. The murdered man's daughter, Alice, joins the Masked
Marvel and his three aides in a campaign to expose and apprehend Sakima.
The suspense builds and the audience doesn't know who the Masked Marvel
is until the last chapter. Lots of slam-bang, over the cliff action in

Classic TV Soaps
Soap operas have been a staple of daytime television in the United States since the early 1950s. This collection will bring back lots of memories. Most of these episodes include the original network commercials. The soap opera Guiding Light started as a radio drama in January 1937 and subsequently transferred to television in June 1952. Guiding Light has been heard or seen nearly every weekday since it started, making it the longest story ever told. Many actors got their start on televison in the soap operas. Don Knotts starred in his first television role on Search For Tomorrow in the early 1950s. The Hollywood Palace: A number of popular music performers got their start on the show. For example, The Rolling Stones made their first US television appearance June 6, 1964, and The Jackson 5 made their first national television appearance on the October 14, 1969 episode. The folk-rock group We Five performed their hit "You Were on My Mind" within a few weeks of its release in 1965.The show was televised in black and white until the fall of 1965, when color telecast were begun.
